As a young girl I studied art at Munson Williams Proctor Art Institute in Utica, NY and the interest has lasted a lifetime. I have studied art under nationally and internationally known artists. My work has been exhibited in a variety of venues, received awards, and is in many private and business collections. I teach art classes both in NY and FL.
Painting in a variety of media provides me with creative options. Watermedia presents many challenges, but also wonderful surprises in creating an impressionistic or abstract painting. I often paint in oil on location (en plein air) enhancing the ability to capture the feeling and atmosphere of the day.
Life in Tropical Florida and the New York Finger Lakes Wine Country provide inspiration for my landscapes, nature, and abstract paintings. Travels also offer opportunities to relate to the textures, beauty, and character of the places I experience. My abstracts are often inspired by my reaction to current events, books I've read, or memories of my past.
